Local Super Bowl champion Jalen Sundell is giving back to the youth in his community, hosting a one day football camp this summer before heading off to training camp with the Seattle Seahawks.
Sundell will host the one-day youth football camp from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 8th, at the Maryville High School football field. The camp is geared toward children from prekindergarten through sixth grade and will be non-padded. Sundell, a Spoofhound alum, will help teach young prospective football players from the region the fundamentals of the game while having fun.
“Jalen will be there to assist and give his guidance on the skills he’s learned throughout his career,” A flyer for the camp explains. "The camp is open to youth in the Midwest area who want learn football from a Super Bowl champion who plays the game of football and life the right way,”
Sundell graduated from Maryville in 2018, where he played center. He was a four-year letter winner for coach Matt Webb and a two-time all-conference selection at offensive tackle and defensive end. He joined the football program at North Dakota State in 2018 and during his career, he was named to Phil Steele’s FCS Freshman All-America third team and the Missouri Valley Football Conference Honor Roll. He also earned first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors, first-team AFCA FCS All-America recognition and third-team Stats Perform FCS All-America honors.
Following his senior season, Sundell was invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine. After going undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks and gained experience throughout his rookie season. In 2025 he was named the starting center for the Seahawks and started every regular-season and postseason game, helping the Seahawks reach and win the Super Bowl, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13.
The cost for the camp is $40 per child. Pads are not required. Participants should bring cleats. To register, visit tinyurl.com/SundellYouthCamp2026.
