Despite battling injuries all throughout 2025, Kansas City Royals ace Cole Ragans finished strong, but now as Spring Training begins the left handed pitcher is looking forward to a healthy start to the upcoming season.
The Royals are gearing up for the new season with high hopes, with Ragans playing a crucial role in their postseason aspirations. After finishing 2024, when Kansas City acquired the left hander from the Texas Rangers with an 11-9 record with a 3.14 ERA and 223 strikeouts, Ragans 2025 season consisted of a groin injury as well as a left rotator cuff strain.
Despite those injuries Ragans still finished strong, posting a 3-3 record with a 4.67 ERA and 98 strikeouts. Over his final starts of the season however, even in limited innings, Ragans looked strong, pitching 13 innings and giving up just four runs, striking out 22 and posting a 2.77 ERA in September.
The Royals are counting on his health and performance to lead their rotation to success. If Ragans can stay healthy and maintain his effectiveness on the mound, the Royals have a strong chance of making a deep playoff run.
