On the early morning of October 17th, 2025, Jesus came down and took His beloved daughter Marvis Jean Davenport home, enveloping her in His loving embrace. Marvis was surrounded by her family, comforted by their presence as she embarked on her eternal journey.

Marvis was born on June 13, 1956, in Clarinda, Iowa, to Dewey and Patricia Williams. Clarinda was not just her hometown; it was where she grew, loved, and flourished. A proud graduate of the Class of 1975, Marvis discovered her passion for softball during her school years, creating cherished memories on the field with her teammates.

This past May, Marvis joyfully celebrated her 50th class reunion, a testament to the bonds she cherished throughout her life. Above all, family was at the heart of everything Marvis did. A natural caregiver, she poured her heart into nurturing not just her children but also the neighborhood kids who affectionately called her "Mom."

Marvis's capacity for love extended to everyone around her. She was known for her generous spirit, always providing meals and support to those in need, especially during their darkest times. Her honesty was a hallmark of her character; she never sugar-coated the truth, offering friends and family the guidance they needed, even when it was difficult to hear.

Marvis had a contagious laugh and warm hugs that made everyone feel cherished. Her compassion and kindness shone through in all she did, touching the lives of family and friends alike. The joy she found in spending time with her grandkids brought her immense happiness, creating laughter and love that will forever resonate in their hearts.

Marvis Williams leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Marvis was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Patricia (Watkins) Williams, and her father, Dewey Roger Williams. She also mourned the loss of her cherished grandmother, Edna Bell Williams, and her grandfather, Ed Williams, Grandfather James Watkins and Grandmother Clara Watkins, as well as her brother-in-law, Craig Shriver.
