Mo. woman accused of DWI in crash that killed pedestrian

BARRY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Monday in Barry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1991 Mazda passenger vehicle driven by  42-year-old Amberel L. Macdermant of Purdy who was southbound on at 1090 Farm Road two miles north of Purdy.

The vehicle struck a pedestrian identified as an 84-year-old Monett woman who was in the roadway.  The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Macdermant was arrested on requested charges of felony DWI; death of another; driving with no valid license and no insurance.
