The city of Maryville has been awarded $52.5 million in funding for drinking water upgrades, as announced by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
The city's expecting the money to cover the entire cost of planned upgrades, which are scheduled to be complete by July 2028.
The funding is a $2.5 million grant, and a 50 million dollar loan. Missouri's DNR estimates a total savings over $24 million for Maryville taxpayers, over the loan's 20-year term.
In a release for the announcement, Missouri DNR director, Kurt Schaefer said "We will continue to fund upgrades to water infrastructure across Missouri to keep people healthy and preserve our water resources while keeping customers’ bills affordable."
