Anna Squires, 91, of Clarinda, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at Clarinda Regional Health Center, Clarinda, Iowa.
Anna Rae Squires, daughter of Faye Toddy Squires and Effie Belle (Adams) Squires, was born on October 10, 1934, in Clarinda, Iowa. She was a life-long southwest Iowa resident, always staying close to her roots.
Anna was always down for a good time and enjoyed to shop. After her morning coffee, Anna could frequently be found at local garage sales and retail stores. She also had garage sales of her own quite frequently. Anna was a fun grandma and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her so much joy.
Most recently, Anna had been attending the Clarinda Methodist Church.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, great-granddaughter, Makyia Fritz, siblings, Art Squires, John (Essie) Squires, Violet (Vernon) Wilcox, Mary (Walt) Purdue and Rosie (Hobert) McClarnon, step-children, Verlin McNeese and Colleen Sorenson, and brother-in-law Bob Richt.
A memorial gathering will be held 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Clarinda Methodist Church, Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Anna Squires Memorial. Arrangements were entrusted to the Nodaway Valley Funeral Home of Clarinda.
