Nodaway County Health Inspections (May 2026)

The following are health inspections in Nodaway County. Inspections are released monthly.

Note that COS means corrected on site.

The Ministry Center-971 S. Main (5-29-26)

No violations.

Burger King-1601 S. Main (5-29-26)

Critical:

  1. Ice chutes on self-serve soda dispensers are dirty.
  2. Ants on counter by self-serve soda dispenser and trash bin.

Non-critical:

  1. Men's room sink loose from wall, and back wall by stool needs to be cleaned.
  2. Broken trim by back door.
  3. Wall dirty under electrical panel.
  4. Broken tile by hand sink near office.
  5. Floor dirty in corner by hand sink and 3-bay sink, under shelving and equipment, especially by drive-thru shelves and by room shelving. Moldy around back legs where onions are stored.
  6. Bottom kick plate of backroom door is very dirty with grime.

The Pub-414 N. Main (5-27-26)

Non-critical:

  1. No handwashing signage in men's and women's room.
  2. Tops of refrigerators and some shelves need to be dusted.
  3. One dripping faucet at four-bay sink.
  4. No self-closer on ADA restroom.

Mahogany Lane-24289 Mahogany Road, Ravenwood (5-26-26)

Pre-opening inspection of event venue. Venue is not a caterer.

  1. Need test kits for sanitizer.
  2. Need self-closer on restroom door.
  3. Need handwashing signage.

Lake Tavern 75-1 Fall Drive, Suite 2 (5-26-26)

Critical:

  1. Green beans, cheese sauce, etc. in hot hold warmer not held at 135° or higher. Turned up. Discussed monitoring and procedure.
  2. Dishwasher not dispensing sanitizer. Contacted Ecolab, ran through a priming cycle, now dispensing adequately.  COS.

Non-critical:

  1. Improper thawing. Discussed.
  2. No signage at bar hand sink, and one kitchen hand sink.
  3. Discussed ceiling tiles. 3 missing-looks like HVAC repairs are going on- and food handler's course.

Walmart Deli-1605 S. Main (5-21-26)

Non-critical:

  1. Vent hoods are dirty and dripping.
  2. Floor in walk-in freezer needs swept.

Kris & Kate's-119 W. 4th Street (5-21-26)

Critical:

  1. Can opener dirty. COS.
  2. Clear liquid- ant bait, leaked on top of counter. COS.

Non-critical:

  1. Foam cups stored on floor in restroom.
  2. Bananas stored on floor.
  3. Food and food items (ice cream cones, cups, and lids) stored in the restroom.
  4. Countertop in disrepair.
  5. Exposed particle board-absorbent, and not fully cleanable.
  6. Restroom pocket door open, and not self-closing.
  7. No hair restraints.

Plot Twist Cafe-215 W. 5th (5-19-26)

No violations.

Dollar General-925 N. Main (5-15-26)

Frappucino, Tea, and Alani refrigerator is 52°, but these items don't require refigeration, per the label.

Non-critical:

  1. Box of foam plates stored on floor by paper towel shelves.
  2. Dusty shelves: bottom of chip shelves and below Pure Leaf Tea refrigerator.
  3. Ceiling tiles stained throughout.
  4. Missing tiles in back storeroom.
  5. Peeling paint on back storeroom wall.
  6. Restroom door propped open.
  7. Gaps around double door to back room, with poor seal.

McDonald's-1106 S. Main (5-12-26)

Non-critical:

  1. No handwashing signage in kitchen hand sinks.

Dollar Tree-1402 S. Main (5-12-26)

Critical:

  1. Potentially hazardous food not held at 41° or below: Milk, Bacon, Cheese, Deli Ham. 2-door dairy cooler placed out of service and discarded food items.

Non-critical:

  1. Several stained ceiling tiles.

Nodaway County Senior Center-1214 E. 1st (5-6-26)

Non-critical:

  1. Torn door gaskets: Hussman cooler, True freezer, Superior freezer.
  2. Contact paper on a few shelves.
