Terry Lee Eaton, age 79, Tarkio, Missouri, formerly of Craig, Missouri died Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home, in Rock Port, Missouri.
Terry was born August 25, 1946 in Hamburg, Iowa. He was the son of the late John Lee and Wilma Jean (VanScyoc) Eaton. They preceded him in death.
Terry was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Mills High School in Tabor, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Abbott on August 9, 1974 in Glenwood, Iowa. To this union three boys were born Jason, Johnny and Michael.
Early in his career, Terry worked as a surveyor for the Mills and Fremont counties in Iowa.
Terry and Ruth moved to Craig, Missouri taking the position of City Superintendent for the city there. He had served in that position for over 20 years. Terry also served many terms as the Mayor of Craig. He was member of the former Presbyterian Church of Craig.
His survivors include wife Ruth of the home, Tarkio, three sons Jason (Jennifer) Eaton, Maryville, Missouri, Johnny (Tabitha) Eaton and Michael (Danyelle) Eaton both of Tarkio, three grandchildren Titus and Jozee Eaton and Kaytlin Young, and a host of friends and loved ones.
A family visitation will be held from 3-5 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Schooler Funeral Home in Fairfax, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, January 30, 2026 in the Tabor Cemetery, Tabor, Iowa.
