Terry Dale Poppa, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on October 5th, 1947, in Maryville, Missouri, Terry remained a lifelong resident of his hometown.

Terry was a devoted family man, preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Poppa, whom he married on January 1, 1966. Together, they built a beautiful family. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Harold Poppa Sr. and Mabel Poppa, his brothers Fred, Jimmy, and Larry Poppa, and his grandsons Austin and Aiden Poppa.

He is survived by his children: sons Matthew (Nicole) Poppa and Kirk Poppa, both of Maryville, MO; daughters Terrilyn (Rick) Wilson and Sherri (Scott) Williams, both of Maryville, MO, and Melissa (Bruce Sprague) Poppa of Syracuse, NE. Terry was a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who brought joy to his life. He also leaves behind his brothers Harold (Donna) Poppa Jr. of Galveston, TX, and Richard (Mary) Poppa of Orlando, FL; sisters Anna Marie (Jim) Jones of Skidmore, MO, and Mary (Jerry) Price of Maryville, MO, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army, including a tour in Vietnam in 1968. After his military service, he pursued a career in construction, working as a self-employed contractor. His work ethic and dedication were admired by all who knew him.

Terry had a passion for life and a wide array of interests. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed attending and participating in truck shows, and was a skilled bowler and softball player. His love for woodworking was evident in the beautiful pieces he crafted, and he was a regular at stock car sprint races.

Terry's life will be celebrated with love and gratitude for the many ways he touched the lives of those around him. Arrangements are being handled by Bram Funeral Home.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.

Terry Dale Poppa will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
