James Ralph Daniels, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on Tuesday, March 19th, 1933, in Bedford, Iowa, James was a cherished resident of Maryville, Missouri, where he spent the majority of his life.
James was a dedicated and hardworking man, having served his country honorably in the Army. After his military service, he found his calling as a painter, a profession he excelled in for 20 years at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. He also worked as a Coop truck driver, showcasing his versatility and commitment to providing for his family.
A man of deep community ties, James was a proud member of the American Legion Post 100 for over 60 years. His generosity was evident in his regular donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, reflecting his compassionate spirit and desire to help others.
James had a profound love for horses and spent countless hours on his small hobby farm, tending to his beloved animals and putting up hay. His passion for farming was only surpassed by his love for his family, with whom he cherished traveling to warmer climates.
James is survived by his son, Jim Daniels and his wife Janet of Maryville, MO; his brothers, Roy (Mary) Daniels, Doyle Daniels, and Gene Daniels; his grandchildren, Christy, Jeremy, Renee, Jason, Mindy, and Cody; and his great-grandchildren, Scott, Deryk, Tyler, Victoria, Dylan, Jaidyn, Ashtyn, Brooke, Dawson, Justin, Alexis, Victoria, Hope, Kaylee, Walker, Jaycee, Jordan, Colton, and Meva. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Hazel Daniels; his beloved wife, Eleanor Daniels; his daughter, Sharon Hilbert; and his brothers, Duane, Glen, and Dale Daniels.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, at 10:00 am.
