MARYVILLE, Mo. — The City of Maryville is set to upgrade its lake patrol equipment with the acquisition of a new patrol boat for Mozingo Lake Park.
At this week's city council meeting, members gave first-reading approval for the purchase of a 2025 model boat from Excel Boats, priced at approximately $55,000. The new watercraft will replace the city's aging patrol boat, which Police Chief Mike Stolte says has become unreliable, spending more time in repairs than in active use.
During the summer months, Maryville reassigns two officers to patrol Mozingo Lake and the surrounding area. The officers currently share use of an old patrol boat and jet skis, but both have become outdated, prompting the need for updated equipment.
The purchase will be funded through a designated Mozingo Patrol Fund, along with a $10,000 grant secured by the Maryville Police Department.
