Michael Floyd Schwartz, son of Floyd Lenville and Dorothy Bessie (Chadwick) Schwartz, was born in Prairie de Chein, Wisconsin, on July 10, 1937. He entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2025, in Shenandoah, Iowa, at the age of 88 years and 4 days.
The earlier part of Michael’s life was spent growing up in Madison, Wisconsin, where he attended East Side High School and graduated with the Class of 1955. Immediately after graduating, Michael enlisted in the United States Navy and spent 20 years serving his country.
Following his time in the Navy, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Dane County in Madison, Wisconsin, then moved to Colorado where he worked for HW Moore and Rocky Mountain Machinery, both located in Denver. In 1991, Michael started working for the City of Denver and retired in 1999.
On October 15, 2015, Michael was united in marriage to Eileen (Barman) Knudson in Denver, Colorado. The couple remained in Denver before recently relocating to Shenandoah, Iowa. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Diane Farrell. Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Eileen of Shenandoah, Iowa; brother, James Schwartz and wife Denny of Vancouver, Washington; son, Donald Schwartz of Madison, Wisconsin; step-daughter, Emerald Green and husband Kelly of Shenandoah, Iowa; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
