Police ID Kansas homicide victim, suspect still at large

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a deadly shooting in Topeka have identified the victim as 22-year-old  Devin David-Lee Hoadley of Topeka, according to a statement from police.

Just after 1 p.m. Monday, police responded to an assault shooting call in the 200 block of SE 29th Street, according to a media release. First responders learned of a man who received a gunshot wound. American Medical Response transported the shooting victim to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. He later died.  Police have not released his name.

The Topeka Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in the case identified as 20-year-old Tayvian Smith.
