Next week, the Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art hosts its annual Witch's Tea for the Halloween season. Two weeks after that event, Halloween turns to Christmas as the museum prepares for another popular event.
Tickets are now on sale for the Sugarplum Festival at the Albrecht Kemper running November 12th through the 14th. The festival helps visitors kick off the holiday season with unique Christmas gifts from area small businesses, local entrepreneurs, and crafters, while also bringing live music and other holiday festivities.
Director of Communications and Marketing Madison McKinley says the festival is a great opportunity to grab gifts you can't get anywhere else.
"We have a really cool selection of small businesses and boutiques that come to this festival," McKinley says on the KFEQmunnity show. "Some of them are regulars and they come every single year, and you just kind of know they're going to be there, and then we have a lot of new ones too, we have several news ones this year that I'm pretty excited about."
Businesses from St. Joseph attend the event, but vendors also come from around the area, such as Kansas City, Savannah, and Maryville, with a variety of items for sale. Presale tickets for the event are currently on sale for $8, but they can also be purchased at the door for $10 during the event.
Along with the presale tickets, McKinley says there are also special ticket packages available, including some that will get you into the special Preview Party the day before the event begins.
"It's a more private and intimate experience, and a lot of people like to do that just because they get to have first dibs," McKinley explains. "And then they also get admission throughout the festival the rest of the weekend as well, plus a parking pass, so it all adds up over time."
Presale tickets can be purchased at the Albrecht Kemper Museum, as well as Price Chopper, HyVee, the Visitors Bureau, and Mosaic Life Care. Special ticket packages can be viewed on the Albrecht Kemper's website.
