
KANSAS CIty —Authorities are working to determine the cause of an apartment fire in Kansas City.
Just before 4a.m. Thursday, crews responded to a reported apartment fire in the 2700 block of E 30th Street in Kansas City, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
Crews reported smoke and fire showing from a two-story occupied apartment building on arrival. Searches of the structure were conducted. The fire was brought under control just after 4:30 a.m. One occupant was treated for smoke inhalation on scene but declined transport to the hospital. The Red Cross has been ordered for 7 adults and 3 children.
