FAIRFAX, Mo. — A Fairfax man is facing serious criminal charges after a search warrant was executed Wednesday in Atchison County.
According to Atchison County Sheriff Andrew Riley, James Richard Ball was arrested following a joint investigation by the Atchison County Sheriff's Office and the Cyber Crimes Task Force. Authorities searched a residence in Fairfax, leading to Ball’s arrest on suspicion of possession of child pornography and child molestation.
A probable cause statement was submitted to the Atchison County Prosecutor’s Office, which led to a warrant being issued by the Atchison County Circuit Court. Ball faces charges of:
- Possession of Child Pornography – 1st Offense
- Sodomy – 1st Degree (Aggravated Sexual Offense)
Ball was served the warrant while in custody at the Atchison County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond pending a court appearance.
Sheriff Riley noted that additional charges may be filed, as the case remains under active investigation.
