Willard Andrew, 96, of Clarinda, Iowa, passed away March 30, 2026, at the Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda.
Willard Evan Andrew, son of Evan Jerry Andrew and Letha Emily (Weller) Andrew, was born on January 12, 1930, at his grandparents’ home in rural Montgomery County, Iowa. Willard was the eldest of three siblings, Dorothy and Robert. He was raised in rural Villisca and graduated from high school there. Following his graduation, Willard then ventured to Atlantic where he would complete one year of education training to be a teacher.
Willard was united in marriage to Garland Hall and together they adopted their son Anthony ‘Tony’ Michael Andrew. Tony passed away in 1981 and Garland followed in 1984.
On February 3, 1985, Willard married Margaret Elizabeth Aspedon, at their home in Clarinda. They enjoyed many outdoor adventures, including riding their Goldwing Motorcycle, snowmobiling and going for drives on ATVs. Most fun for both of them was when they went Jeeping, touring the countryside together. As a couple, they would spend many winter months at their home in Apache Junctions, Arizona.
Willard owned and operated his own dealerships. Andrew Motors for automobiles, Andrew Flight service for airplanes and Andrew Trailers for RV trailers. He sold airplanes all over the United States and also into Canada. At the age of 65, Willard was able to retire, selling his dealerships. Willard was active with the First Christian Church in Clarinda and also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Nodaway Lodge No. 140 of Clarinda.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, wife Garland Hall Andrew, son Tony Andrew, father and mother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. George Hall, sister Dorothy McAlpin, brother Robert Andrew and step-daughter Amy Jo Finnell.
Surviving Willard is his wife Margaret of Clarinda; step-sons, Christopher and wife Sue Finnell of Winfield, Iowa and Scott Finnell of Clarinda; four step-grandchildren; five step-greatgrandchildren; along with other extended relatives and friends he met throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Nodaway Valley Funeral Home in Clarinda, with Pastor Mike Harvey officiating. Visitation with luncheon will take place immediately following the service at Nodaway Valley Funeral Home in Clarinda. Private family burial will be held at the Clarinda Cemetery in Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials are kindly suggested to the Willard Andrew Memorial Fund.
