The northwest section of Maryville is under a boil advisory today, after a water main broke around 16th Street and Icon Road.
Boil any water used for drinking, ice, brushing teeth, or preparing food for at least three minutes.
While there is no evidence of contamination at this time, the boil advisory is recommended until testing can confirm the water is safe.
This a boil advisory, which differs from a boil order. Orders are issued when the water is known to be contaminated.
Water can still be used for bathing, laundry, and other household purposes.
Once repairs are complete, water samples will be collected for laboratory testing.
The advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe.
