Edward E. Ingram, the son of Thomas E. and Anna I. (Gebhards) Ingram was born July 1, 1937, in Langdon, Missouri. He attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri graduating in 1955. Edward then enlisted into the United States Navy at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, in Great Lakes, Illinois. Edward worked as a radar operator on the “USS Antietam”. In 1959 following his honorable discharge, Edward returned home to Rock Port.
On November 9, 1962, Edward was united in marriage to Peggy Million at the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. They made their home north of Rock Port and became the parents of four children, Bernadine, Joe, Jacque, and Roy.
When Edward returned home from the Navy, he went to work for Temple Bentley at the Langdon Elevator. Edward then went into farming with his uncle, Herb Gebhards. They raised popcorn and other row crops in the hills and on the bottom around Langdon. Edward also raised commercial hogs and cattle while farming in the hills north of Rock Port. Edward helped Jack Scamman, DVM, working and caring for livestock. After retiring from farming, Edward was employed in the Atchison County Soil Conservation office and drove a truck for Mo Valley Ag.
Edward was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port and the Rock Port Golf and Country Club, where he played regularly. For years Edward coordinated the Rock Port youth baseball program and helped with the Tarkio Rodeo, Tarkio, Missouri. He enjoyed golf, bowling, slow pitch softball, and conversation in local coffee shops. He served as a chaperone on FFA school functions while his children were in high school. Edward spent countless hours watching his children and grandchildren in their various activities, wherever those activities took him. Edward passed away surrounded by his family, Friday, August 1, 2025, at the age of 88.
Besides his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother Dwayne Ingram, brothers-in-law, Benny Million and Lennis Million, and sisters-in-law Beverly Million and Wanda Thayer. Survivors include wife, Peggy Ingram, Rock Port; children, Bernadine (Rich) Mendenhall, Oregon, Missouri, Joe (Amy) Ingram, Savannah, Missouri, Jacque (Dave) McGinness, Amazonia, Missouri and Roy (Deborah) Ingram, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Ciara (Paxton), Elizabeth (Matthew), Tyler, Hannah (Ben), Sarah, Clayton, Blake (Lauren), Jenni, Jessica, Kate (Josh), Cameron, and Conner; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Ingram, Rock Port; brother-in-law, Gene (Carolyn) Million, Diamond, Missouri, sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Bob) Kerr, Liberty, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 7, 2025, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Minter Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M.
Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
Memorials: Rock Port First Responders.
Full Military Honors under the auspices of Ralph Greer American Legion Post 49, Rock Port, Missouri.
Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
