CRAIG, Mo. — The Holt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death that occurred Monday near Craig, Missouri.

In a statement released on social media, officials confirmed that Highway 59 south of Craig was closed for much of the day while law enforcement processed the scene near the intersection of 59 and Elmwood Road. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Investigative Division is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Authorities described the incident as a “targeted event”, emphasizing that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
