Emery Dale Totten, 89, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Nodaway Nursing Home.
He was born on November 19, 1935, in Skidmore, Missouri, the only child of Howard and Edna Jewell (Randall) Totten. In 1954 he graduated from Quitman High School.
He served in the United States Army for two years and four years in the reserves. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Barnard, but they had attended the Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville for the last few years. Emery Dale was the owner of Countryside Custodial for thirteen years.
Emery Dale never met a stranger and was quick with his wit and sense of humor. He had lots of hobbies which included playing pool, cards, deer and coyote hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stillborn daughter, Kenda Sue, sister-in-law, Darlene Hagg and niece, Terri Kretzschmer.
He married Norma Jeanean Hagg, on April 14, 1957, in Barnard, Missouri. She survives of the home; two daughters, Barbara LeAnn (David) Skoglund, Smithville, Missouri and Tracy Lynn (Bruce) Skoglund, Barnard, Missouri; Jaclyn Skoglund, Trimble, Missouri, Jennifer Skoglund, Smithville, Missouri, Dustin (Heather) Skoglund, Barnard, Missouri and Kirk Skoglund, Gladstone, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Harlyn and Rian Skoglund, Barnard, Missouri and Hazel and Cecily Skoglund, Smithville, Missouri brothers-in-law, Gary Hagg, Maryville, Missouri and Jerry (Jane) Hagg, Dearborn, Missouri; nephews, John Hagg, Joe Hagg and David Hagg and great-niece, Veronica Malone.
Services 10am, Monday, September 1st at Price Funeral Home. Burial Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, August 31st at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Hillcrest Cemetery Association.
