Audrey May (Wheaton) Wright, of Graham, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the age of 103 at the Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville, Missouri.
Audrey was one of eleven children born to Albert and Elizabeth (Dow) Wheaton on June 10, 1922, in Fairville, New Brunswick, Canada.
On October 19, 1944, she was united in marriage to Lewis Wright and from that union nine children were born. Six in Canada and three in Missouri. Lewis preceded her in death on November 25, 1996, after 52 years of marriage.
In October 1961 the family moved to Maitland, Missouri where Lewis would be the manager-combination man with the local telephone company. Audrey was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, parents, and siblings she was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Michael, daughter, Cathy and son-in-law, Larry Jackson.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Wright (Mary Ann), St. Joseph; and Barry Wright (Lesa), Skidmore, Missouri; daughters, Susan Biermann (Greg), Maitland, Missouri; Mary Lou Jackson, Mound City, Missouri; Cindy Harris (Terry), Pickering, Missouri; and Lori Franks (Steve), Valley Falls, Kansas. Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In June of 2024 Audrey traveled with two of her daughters back to Canada for a visit with her nieces and nephews where she celebrated her 102nd birthday. She was able to enjoy a few lobster rolls which she was looking forward to.
The family gives special thanks to the staff of Nodaway Nursing Home and AseraCare Hospice for the care that was given to Audrey during her stay.
Private graveside services will be held at the Maitland Cemetery, under the direction of Price Funeral Home.
