KANSAS CITY—A Kansas City man is facing charges for allegedly firing into a residence, which injured one person earlier this month.
Marques D. Harris, 22, faces Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action. Unlawful Use of a Weapon is a class A felony and carries 10-30 years, or life imprisonment. Armed Criminal Action carries a range of three to 30 years.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded to a residence on a reported shooting on Sept. 1. Officers observed more than 20 bullet holes in the front of the house and located the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper right leg. Four other uninjured occupants were present during the incident.
Surveillance footage showed a vehicle driving by the residence once before it returned a second time and stopped in front of the residence. The footage captured muzzle flashes shooting at the house.
Using several investigative tools, detectives identified the defendant as one of the individuals in the vehicle that was shooting at the residence. The investigation is ongoing.
A Jackson County judge set the defendant’s bond at $75,000 cash only.
