President Donald Trump has nominated former Nebraska agriculture director Greg Ibach to serve as USDA Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs. Ibach previously served as USDA Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs during the first Trump administration. The White House has formally sent his nomination to the Senate for consideration.
If confirmed, Ibach would succeed Luke Lindberg, who has been appointed Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins called Ibach a lifelong producer and experienced agricultural leader who understands the industry from the farm gate to international markets. The USDA trade office plays a major role in expanding overseas markets, negotiating agricultural trade issues and promoting U.S. farm products around the world.
