
HENRY COUNTY —Residents in Clinton are cleaning up after a spring storm rolled across the area Wednesday.
Just before 6p.m., the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for portions of Henry County. The county emergency management office reported a "confirmed tornado over Clinton Moving E At 30 MPH. Impact locations impacted include Clinton, Coal & Truman Lake.'
Henry Elementary School and Clinton Intermediate School were in the path of the storm and sustained minor to moderate damage to the roofs of each building. As a result of this damage, Clinton Schools will not be in session Thursday.
No injuries have been reported within the city limits of Clinton, according to the fire department. Several homes sustained damage from tree limbs. One structure, a storage building behind American Building Products on South Second Street, was completely destroyed. Several power poles in the same area were broken off at their bases.
A set of above ground diesel storage fuel tanks at a warehouse on North 5th Street were blown over. Both tanks were empty, according to Clinton Fire Department.
There are no injuries reported.
