SHENANDOAH, Iowa — A once-dilapidated home in Shenandoah is now fully renovated and on the market—thanks to three years of dedication by Shenandoah High School students, teachers, and community partners.
The house at 213 West Sheridan Avenue, which was purchased by the Shenandoah School District from the city in 2022 for just $1, served as a hands-on learning project for students in the high school's building trades program. The work was celebrated with an open house earlier this week.
Despite obstacles, the school received vital support from local businesses, volunteers, and city officials, who provided supplies, labor, and expertise.
The school district is accepting sealed bids for the property, with the goal of selling the home at the August Shenandoah School Board meeting.
