Mo. woman killed, 2 small children injured in Kansas crash

JOHNSON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Honda Accord driven by  Jeffrey William Davis, 40, Kansas City, Missouri, was northbound on U.S. 69 just south of 159th Street.  The driver swerved to avoid a northbound 2021 Honda Accord driven by Nathaniel Harper Trumble, 26, Wichita, who had abruptly stopped.  Davis lost control of his car and collided with the stopped vehicle and rolled.

 A passenger in the 2008 Honda identified as Faith Monae Lockett, 24, Raytown, Missouri, was pronounced deceased and transported to the Johnson County Medical Examiner. 

EMS transported a 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl in the car to Children's Mercy. EMS transported Davis to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Trumble and a passenger in the 2021 Honda were not injured.  Lockett was not wearing a seat belt and the children were not properly restrained, according to the KHP.
