Elaine Francis Lillian Anderson passed at the age of 91 years, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Elaine was born on January 8, 1934. She grew up in Fremont, Nebraska and attended public schools, graduating in 1952.
Elaine worked in waitress and hostess positions in the fancier restaurants in California. She attended Joh Hopkins University earning a AA degree in California in 1982. She then moved back to Nebraska where she lived in Cedar Bluff and worked at a smaller business, waitressing there. She loved camping in their small pull trailer. Ended up in Casa Grande, Arizona where they lived for many years. She was active in the Disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary Chapter 18 in Fremont, Nebraska and in Casa Grande, Arizona, where she did fundraising for the DAV. Her husband passed away while they lived there. She stayed at Sunscape Park after that, before moving to Maryville, Missouri, where her son Chuck and daughter Rhonda live. Her final days were living with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Katherine (Theisen) and Gustof Adolf Anthony, Husband, Harold “Andy” Anderson, her brothers and sisters, Leonard (Doris) Anthony, Arnold (Joy) Anthony, Verna (Lester) Andersen, Anita Meriweather and 2 infant siblings, son-in-law, Larry McKinney, daughter-in-law, Dawn Simpson and daughter-in-law, Suzie Zook.
Survivors include her children, Charles (Debbie) Zook, Rhonda McKinney, Maryville, Missouri, Ronald Zook, Corona, New Mexico and Mark (Geri) Simpson, Omaha, Nebraska, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anderson has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date. In memory of Elaine, memorials can be made in care of Here Am I Ministries, P.O. Box 64, Bedford, Iowa 50833 or In care of the family to assist with the headstone purchase.
