LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. —Law enforcement are investigating the death of a boy in Lafayette County.
Just before 9p.m. Tuesday, sheriff's deputies responded to report of missing 6-year-old boy in Waverly, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office. Multiple agencies and members of the community assisted in searching for the child.
Just after 10:30p.m., searchers found the boy in a small pond within the city. Life-saving measures were administered but were unsuccessful.
The sheriff's office released no additional details. Waverly is approximately 85 miles east of Kansas City.
