Harold “Wayman” Bonham, 78, of Liberty, Missouri, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 9, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Wayman was born on June 9, 1947, in King City, Missouri, to Arthur and Geraldine Bonham. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was assigned to F Troop, 17th Cavalry, serving as part of a tank recovery unit in South Vietnam.
Following his military service, Wayman married Betty Craven on December 21, 1968, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend and will be remembered for his strong faith, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Wayman found great joy in farming, being actively involved in his church family, and spending time with those he loved. He spent his career as an auto technician, was a proud member of the IBEW, and retired from KCP&L. He lived a life firmly grounded in faith and love.
Wayman is survived by his wife, Betty Bonham of Liberty; his children, Scott (Jenny) Bonham of Cowgill, Kevin (Michell) Bonham of Kearney, and Brent (Tiffany) Bonham of Liberty; nine grandchildren, Kylie (Drew) Entrikin, Peyton Bonham, Colt (Alicia) Bonham, Alyssa Bonham, Chloe Bonham, Alex Bonham, Zoe Mead, Adalena Mead, and Noah Bonham; two great-grandchildren, Wynonna Bonham and Benson Entrikin; and his siblings, Judith Williams of St. Joseph, Paula Price of Savannah, and Mervin Bonham of Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Geraldine Bonham of Albany, Missouri.
Memorial Service: 11:00 AM Friday, January 16 at the Chandler Baptist Church, Liberty, MO. With Sean Taylor and Dave Everly officiating. Military Rites will follow the service at the church. The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 AM on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Baptist Church, Vietnam Veterans of America or American Cancer Society in loving memory of Wayman Bonham.
